nashville wont move fabro or carrier, whitecloud is depth for vegas and i dont see them moving him, bear is probably not going because of the canes injuries, i would say regula, cernak, and barron are the best to go for. for cernak i would give up a 2nd maybe.

Whitecloud signed a 6-year deal so he’s not being moved

Bear isn’t really a defensive RD… I wouldn’t want him if I was you. A Cernak trade could be interesting.. maybe include Severson going over 50% retained, and maybe a little more. Could happen at the deadline so they can go for two cups with him if he doesn’t resign.

Wait, trade Severson+ for Cernak? Do you mean Cernak+ for Severson?

I feel like they are going to have to move someone from that blueline. And their aren’t many options for guys that are moveable and would save cap.

Oh yah haha. Probably Cernak plus for Severson. I spelled that wrong.. my bad. Tampa fans may disagree, but I think getting Severson at the deadline at 50% retained, is very good for them. Even if they have to add more on top of Cernak.

Preds are more likely to move Myers than Carrier or Fabbro. But if you want cost estimates, it won't be too cheap. Management loves Fabbro and he has finally stepped it up this year. Top pairing 23yo RD making $2.4M for the next two years would want an A prospect and high pick. Carrier has turned into a solid 2nd pairing RD that is under contract for ~$700k for this year and next. For a team at the cap that could be worth a lot, easily a 1st+.

only way that avs are moving barron its for an impact player, realistically 1 for 1 the value isnt there in NJD unless they build a trade for Bratt wiht Barron in it

Cernak isn't available. Young top 4 shutdown RHD with physicality don't grow on trees. Bolts have no one to replace him in his role.

cernak would be avaible for the right price. if your a bolts fan your just being biased to your team. if your not please look into the mistakes gm's have made. the bolts gm could move cernak. it isnt like they say f off every time a team calls about him. just dont assume someone isnt avaible. stuff happens.

That sounds reasonable. Fabbro for pick/prospect is probably what we’d be looking for. Any prospect not named Holtz, Hughes or Gritsyuk wound probably be on the table (and probably not Daws or Schmid since we are thin in net).

Tampa is trying to win now. They have won two cups with Cernak as their top RHD, unless you're upgrading Cernak in his role it doesn't make sense. Cernak is proven and Tampa's only actual top 4 RHD, what reason would they have for moving him out? In reference of the two suggested valuations of Cernak (2nd, or Cernak+ for Severson) neither make sense for Tampa. A 2nd is a gross underpayment and does nothing for Tampa who are trying to win, and Severson isn't a suitable replacement for Cernak.

This ACGM is trying to add a "defensive RD who can move puck reasonably well out of d-zone", implying the Devils are missing that type of player, which is what Tampa would need back in any trade where they move out Cernak. So in this context Cernak isn't available.

Bear, I'd imagine you're looking at someone like Siegenthaller + roster pieces. Yes, big price, but the Canes have no need to trade their current 1RD. I know this is a price NJD walks away from, but there's no real reason for the team with the best points percentage in the league to move on from a defenseman on their top pairing.

Cernak isnt going anywhere. hes our best RHD and will be cheap to resign. 0 chance moves him any time soon but if your looking for his value, its somewhere around a mid to high 1st + a high B prospect or a top prospect and a couple of 2nd-3rd round picks

Been beating the Severson and Johnsson both at 50% for Serg drum. Saves them cap space for next year and, if you're into analytics, is an upgrade over Serg and any of their bottom-6 players

For Vegas I'd look at Hague rather than Whitecloud. Pending RFA due a big raise and they don't have the space for it, imo.

It is, but Sergachev has more value, and potential. Don’t see them trading him before they trade McDonagh. I could see Cernak though, only if Severson is going the other way.

Bear for Johnsson in the off-season?

I don’t see the Canes trading a roster D before the playoffs:

No, for sure. It would take forward-thinking and a "win now at all costs" mindset. So wouldn't happen in the NHL lol

(!)

Siegenthaler has the highest defensive GAR in NHL and has all season. To put it another way, Siegenthaler >>> Bear.

The reason I included Bear was I had seen that Canes may be trying to add a d-man at deadline, which could push Bear out of lineup (6th in TOI now).
