Acting like Craig Smith & Anthony Mantha are throw-ins is an incredible undervaluation of both players - especially Mantha, a guy who just over a year ago was traded for a 1st, 2nd, and Jakub Vrana. You're not even giving that much up to Washington here *and* you're getting Samsonov? No way.

No need to get a goalie imo with how daws is playing rn. a healthy blackwood and daws going into next year would be a really good young tandem, and if daws does not preform well next year like he is now (keep in mind he is 21) then we can put him back into the minors for another season and aquire another goalie for that season. If Blackwood does not preform and daws does he can backup daws, and with that being his contract year he can potentially be a deadline trade. If both preform poorly, which is unlikley, we figure out a goaltending plan for the next season which is when i believe the team needs to make a playoff push.

Blackwood is a really good goalie when healthy. Daws looks to be a really good goalie too. 25 and 21 years old. i dont think there is really a goalie problem anymore
