Why would the Kings give up a first-round pick that leads games played by a defenseman for his draft season, for a rental?

LA isn't going to trade him and the Jets shouldn't be targeting LD with one of their best trade chips. Bjornfot is great and all, but just not needed compared to other positions. Why add to their deepest position when they could add to a position with shallow depth?
