There is no "retool" for this team hahaha... it would make no sense to bail on this year. They will very likely never have this much extra cap space again. Hopefully they do fair well in the playoffs and the NHL can stop stuff like this from happening in the future

I think if they move Martinez Smith and Dadonov they could fix team in free agency. I wouldnt be oppossed to moving Karlsson either

Trouble with Vegas is that so many NTC, and just big money contacts, it's really impossible to "retool". They have to go with their group they have signed. Seems like so many have reached their peak, and may be the downside now.....which still should be make Vegas playoff contenders.

I agree it would be great to see them not make the playoffs but they sort of need to; they're going to lose good players next season just to be able to have enough guys to fill out a roster around their expensive, aging vets. They're going to lose Smith and will need to trade at least a few other expensive contracts but won't get much back because they'll be cap dumps for Vegas. Dadonov was never worth his current contract, Karlsson is having a very down year, Martinez is in his late 30's, Lehner is an okay, not great #1. They need things to work out this year and for everyone to get healthy by the playoffs, assuming they make it in which is, at this point, very much in question.
