Absolutely underrated by a lot of people on here, but points don’t mean everything.

He's a Leaf. Round these parts that's an automatic discount.

I guess the question is whether his performance this year is standard level for him, or if he is over-performing relative to his usual self. Looking at this stats, it looks more like the latter.

That being said, I agree with you - please stop trading him to CBJ in all these ACGMs.

I like this post. He is having an outstanding year based on his history though, I think it's fair to question if he'll maintain it. Also, while he's doing it without PP, he's playing with incredible linemates that many players on this list don't have. Still, I do think he gets disrespected on Capfriendly

It's also fair to note that he has amassed his points this year with no PP time. He primarily plays PK and even strength anywhere from the 2nd to 4th lines.

True, true.

Is he usually a PP guy?

Incredible linemates is a stretch. Sure he played with JT and Nylander for a while, but that line has been disbanded for a while. He gets a sniff every so often, but recently he's mainly been playing with Spezz and Simmer.

EDIT: This statement is wrong. After checking, he has played 340ish minutes with JT and Nylander....my bad.

Tavares and Nylander have been.

But he has gotten ZERO PP time this year as well. Kerfoot has been very solid.

He could very easily be a PP guy. The Leafs PP is just loaded.

He is good, but it’s hard to put up as many points when you haven’t played as many games. Here are how many points the guys have that you have shown, and how many games they played.

Alex Kerfoot: 59GP, 43P.

Conor Garland: 55GP, 32P
Richard Rakell: 51GP, 28P
Taylor Hall: 59GP, 42P
Victor Olofsson: 50GP, 27P
Tyler Toffoli: 51GP, 39P
Vincent Trocheck: 59GP, 40P
Brandon Hagel: 54GP, 36P
Sam Bennett: 49GP, 36P
Adrian Kempe: 58GP, 36P
Joel Eriksson-Ek: 53GP, 31P
Josh Anderson: 48GP, 24P
Nico Hischier: 50GP, 38P
Ryan Strome: 55GP, 43P
Brady Tkachuk: 55GP, 42P
Travis Konecny: 57GP, 35P
Tomas Hertl: 58GP, 46P
Ivan Barbashev: 58GP, 42P
Anthony Cirelli: 54GP, 31P
Reilly Smith: 56GP, 38P
Andrew Copp: 54GP, 32P

There is only 2 players that have played the same amount of games as Kerfoot, and keep in mind what team they play for, and who they play with. Some of these players are driving ether their own lines, with little to no help, and some are playing with horrible line mates, on horrible teams.

Mainly JT and Nylander. He also is a guy that scores in bunches and then goes 5-6 gms without points. So keep that in mind. I would be fine with moving him if it brings immediate help to D or goal tending.

Mikheyev is super good. The Leafs pp is number one in the league. They don't need to change it up!

Playing with no PP is impressive but having two linemates that are close to a point per games helps

definitely. Kerfoot holds his own on the line though. Quick, decent defensively, decent offensively. Good compliment to 2 stars.
