Description
Friedman says that it looks like DeBrusk will remain a bruin for the remainder of the year. I love DeBrusk but personally believe its in the teams best interest to trade him. Heres my take on the TDL assuming the bruins keep JD
Trades
1.
BOS
  1. Giroux, Claude ($4,115,000 retained)
PHI
  1. Beecher, John [Reserve List]
  2. Lohrei, Mason [Reserve List]
  3. 2022 1st round pick (BOS)
Additional Details:
This is the most I think the bruins should give for Giroux. He is a rental who's best days are behind him. That being said I think the bruins should take a real shot at him.
2.
BOS
  1. Giordano, Mark ($3,370,000 retained)
SEA
  1. Haula, Erik
  2. Vaakanainen, Urho
  3. 2022 3rd round pick (CGY)
  4. 2023 5th round pick (BOS)
Additional Details:
5th turns into a '23 3rd if bruins make it past the 2nd round and Giordano plays 65% of the games
3.
BOS
  1. 2022 3rd round pick (PIT)
  2. 2023 4th round pick (LAK)

Debrusk staying put was the most predictable thing ever.

Given his relationship issues with Cassidy coupled with his inconsistency I thought it was likely he would get traded.

No way I’m giving that up for giroux. Lohrei and lysell are definitely not included for giroux. Lohrei is being nominated for NCAA dman of the year and he’s young and left handed everything bruins need for the future, he’s good 2 ways but is stronger offensively which B’s defence currently lack production in

Hopefully JD’s mentality stays high after the TDL, if this is the case. I’m assuming it will, he’s got a good head on his shoulders and as long as he stays on that top line he should be able to recognize that opportunity and try to maximize production for his next contract🤞. If for some reason he gets bumped off the top line though, I can see his drive declining very very fast though.

Bruins shouldn't do that Giroux trade. That's 3 key pieces to the Bruins bare prospect pool, trading those away just make it that much harder to stay competitive in the future. Same with moving Vaak. If you want to move those prospects, someone with term better be coming back. Not an ageing rental.

As much as its a big package for Giroux, it is a seller's market.

And with Boston, theres an element of how many chances does the current squad have left with Pastarnak, Marchand, Bergeron. (Not to mention over 30 yr olds in Hall, Coyle, Foligno, Smith, Haula)

While cap isn;t really an issue, age and same results are.

Theres part of me that thinks BOS will offer DeBrusk, one of those two prospects and a 2nd and 4th kind of thing
