Barron is probably untouchable as hes the only good RD prospect left . That Ottawa trade seems pretty fair on both sides

If the Avs are going to give up Helleson and a 2nd for Manson, the package for Giroux is probably Barron, one of Kraut or Jost and a 1st.

I think with the Landeskog injury and the fact PHI can eat half of Giroux's salary, makes it a no brainer.

Even if COL part with Barron (and Helleson), they have defensive youngsters in Makar, Giraud, Byram and still have Newhook and the Big O as top forward prospects/top 6 capable.

They have a very potent team, but this is their best chance. I just can't see COL not trying to go all in this year, with three of their top 6 forwards and their starting goalie UFAs and MacKinnon, Newhook, Byram all getting sizeable increases the year after.

I think its a price they can pay, and probably will
