Time to make a splash Kenny

Created by: OhKennyHolland
Team: 2021-22 Edmonton Oilers
Initial Creation Date: Mar. 15, 2022
Published: Mar. 15, 2022
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
Goaltending: because of Koskinen's strong play and Skinner, I think we can hold onto them.
Koskinen just needed a coaching change and since the change, he has been playing spectacular. There aren't much goalies on the market that are clear upgrades. Anyways, an upgrade on D should help the goaltending situation

MAF is an option, but don't think he's coming to Edmonton, it's unlikely.
Varlamov already said no.
Georgiev somehow doesn't feel like an upgrade on Koskinen to me.

Like both moves but I doubt Arizona moves Crouse who is young for an older Foegele who has lower potential

I love the idea of Crouse, he is a big hitting and scoring winger, exactly more of what the Oilers need, just not entirely sure we can afford to resign him next yr, or if he fits in the line up. Suppose they somehow manage to resign Kane AND Holloway plays regular minutes next season, thats a big log jam on the left side. I doubt Holloway will be ready to Centre his own line right away so surely they will play him on the left wing for a while.
Soucy is great too, but i doubt Barrie is included in that trade, leaving a rookie with only a handful of NHL games experience to play on his offside is a no go. For what Manson went for A 2nd + Samorukov should be enough to get Soucy.

Niem/Broberg as the 7th dman

That's a big over payment for Soucy, I like the player but that is a lot for him.

I'd consider him as a rental for just this season, but if it doesn't work I can see Benson going the other way.

I think we can sign Crouse next year to fill up a left side of Hyman, Holloway, Kane, Crouse. I'd free a lot of cap space especially players like Barrie, Kassian, for all the contracts coming in next season, Nurse, McLeod, Yamo, and more.

so who would only be getting 4th line minutes then?? Crouse or Holloway?? I say move Yamo in a trade and play hyman on the RW 2nd line. Kane, Holloway, Crouse on the Left. Crouse and Holloway could rotate between the 2nd and 3rd lines. Then just get a 4th line LW crash and banger on the cheap(or i guess Shore would still be kicking around next season).

How bout spreading the minutes rather than playing McDrai 25 mins a night? I wouldn't trade Yamo unless it's on a trade with a clear upgrade. He's having a career high in goals and shooting more as well.

precisely why trading Yamo now would be ideal. Sell high.
