There’s some inherent risk for us taking Byram given his history. You’re getting a PPG center who would likely thrive as a 1B behind MacK without as deep of defensive responsibility. Copp is a great middle six player that would likely return Kaut + Compher on his own. Heinola has the skills of a top 4 dman today, and Avs would surely be able to let him flourish unlike Jets coaching staff.

COL isn’t doing that ever. Newhook and Byram aren’t going anywhere.

Yada yada yada about what the Avs are getting and how they should over pay. Byram is practicing with the team. Newhook is already the 3C and is starting to show he is ready for 2c. Those 2 combined will make over $4M less than Schiefle. Copp would be a straight rental. Heinola mmm. COL passes rather easily.

I wouldn’t be offering a package including our 1C if I didn’t see value in him. That being said, he is much more susceptible to having a career ending injury.
