Russell is skating with the team might need to factor him in

Highly doubt we’re going to play him anymore. Others have outperformed him and completely stole his spot. Especially if we trade for Soucy.

The Blues would have zero interest in Archibald.

Jeremy Rutherford says the Blues like to add a high energy, penalty killing 4th line forward. Which is exactly what Archibald is. And it’s better if Archibald plays in an American team since he can only play in Canada at the moment because he’s not vaccinated. We’ll probably just give him away at the end and the Blues find what they’re looking for, for free technically.

Darren Dreger on Carson Soucy and the Oilers:

- a Seattle source told him that they are not looking to trade him
- there is interest from Edmonton's side
- will probably have to overpay to get him out of Seattle

Yep, that’s exactly why I made the 2nd rounder return. It’s more than I want tho since I prefer to only do a 3rd. I certainly don’t want to give up a 2nd rounder for Soucy but you already know Holland is about to do some bull**** overpay. Hence why this is a “realistic oilers TDL” lol.

The Blues have no need and no cap for Archibald, who has played all of 7 minutes this season anyway. Besides, they would not want that kook on their team. There are stacks of better options out there.

Oh and I'm pretty sure JR also said that a 4th line forward was the secondary aim, not the first. An LD likely has to come first.

Fair but I just put it there since it fit the interest for both teams. And I don’t think it being the Blues’ secondary aim matters as it’s still a need that they want to fill. I don’t see why not take a chance on Archibald who has a good track record on that exact need.

The Blues have no interest in a meh, un-vaxxed guy who hasn't played all season. I'd imagine most teams, if not all, feel that way.

I'd prefer Soucy more, but I'm totally fine with Braun. Braun is 5-10-15 and plus-5 on a mediocre flyers team. He can be a rock solid 2nd/3rd pairing D for us.

Same. I only see us getting one of the two and I think it’s going to be Braun since he’s cheaper.

I really think soucy is staying in seattle.

More likely turris and a pick for braun and archibald heading out of town to make room for holloway on the roster.
