Any trade for Kane needs to include one of Kappo or Lafreniere I would think. It's just so hard to peg an accurate value, but The Athletic's take is Kappo or AF plus a 1st and if Kappo another player prospect.

To me that is a lot more of quantity of quality...

A trade would look like:

To NYR:
Kane (50% retained)

To CHI:
Lundkvist
Chytil
Kravtsov
Cuylle
Georgiev
2022 1st
2022 2nd
2023 4th

Chicago fans who are demanding Laffy or Kaapo: Kane is no longer in his prime, and to me this is the top dollar package the Rangers could offer without looking foolish.

You can’t have draft picks conditional based on if a player resigns anymore.

he might not be in his prime agewise, but hes outscoring his pace in 3 of the last 4 seasons. To me, an indication of a player being "past his prime" means slowing down, and Kane has showed no signs of slowing down at all since his Hart campaign in 2016

What do you think about this trade for him:
2 Roster Players (Georgiev, Chytil)
A* tier prospect (Lundkvist)
2 A tier prospects (Cuylle, and Kravtsov (Kravtsov is an A tier prospect, just look at his numbers in the KHL))
1 1st Round Pick
1 2nd Round Pick
1 4th Round Pick

The Athletic had an article this morning or last night about this and they also said it will take Laffy or Kappo, a 1st and if Kappo instead then something else as well.

Kane for two playoff seasons at half retained isn't coming without a top elite prospect back.

And it is... arguably with 2...
Lundkvist is our best RD prospect when it comes to raw skill, Kravtsov is our top RW prospect by a big shot...

And Kratsov isn't without risk being Russian not to mention all the issues with Russia today. The Athletic said it best, Kappo or Laffy would almost certainly need to be included.

We are good on the right D side

I dont think Georgiev has much value to us as is, and I think Chytil probably wouldnt have much value to us anyway, I would just keep Dylan Strome at that point to keep Debrincat happy to serve the same role. I think I'm not quite sold on Cuylle's offensive upside, and I still like Kravtsov, but at 22 years old, I dont know if I would call him an A prospect. Realistically, with how limited the market would probably be, I would be happy with the same structure but swapping those one of those two out with Othmann, dropping the 2nd and then calling it a day (obviously with us retaining half). I think landing Kane without giving up Schneider Laffy or Kakko would be considered a win from NYR
