For real though, this is a huge steal for New York, but I think more than anything it seems to suggest Florida has something MAJOR in place and needed to move Vatrano quickly.

While I think the Rangers win this, getting a very soli depth piece for next to nothing, I also like it for Florida depending on what they do next. This move opens up some cap room for the Cats who are already a very deep team. I think it's pretty decent for Florida, but like the Rangers end of it much more

Watch for a Giroux trade...

I think that both the panthers and Avs are building to a giroux trade, and if they do, they will be unstoppable. My final prediction is Avs and panthers

Thank god, I'm so done with the Mock Chiarot/Lehkonen rangers trades on here going for Lundkvist+Kravtsov+1st. Reports are out NYR are out on Chiarot and now this makes them out on Lehkonen

No reason to dump Vatrano for a pick unless you need the cap space to pick someone else up. Chychrun or Giroux? outside chance of Boeser?

I remember times when a 20G scorer on a 2.5M expiring contract used to be worth something at TDL.

A couple notes on why Florida is getting a 4th round pick instead of a 3rd round pick for Vatrano:


1. The Vatrano trade with Boston was 4 years ago.


2. Vatrano is currently a pending UFA with a higher cap hit, compared to 4 years ago.


3. Vatrano is owed 2.6 million in actual salary, compared to 750K in 2018.


4. Vatrano can go play for any team he wants after this season, whereas he was stuck with one team exactly 4 years ago.

It was reported a while ago, they wanted to move him cause they want to give Tippett a permeant spot or something and get some space to bring in a vet 3rd pair LD.
