Why would Detroit do that? They are a team that has been slowly building and it’s finally looking promising. One of their best young forwards is…. Tyler Bertuzzi…. So they should trade him????? For an expiring contract and a 2nd put defensemen, the position they look extremely good at.

Minnesota declines. Why would Minnesota give up anything for a 4th liner at best?

Yeah that definitely doesn't get Bertuzzi, Look at the OP right under you. That's a lot closer to the value that yzerman will want.

Yzerman traded Mantha for 1st, a 2nd, Vrana and Panik (who was just there to make the cap work. Bertuzzi is way more consistent and has improved each season. When Mantha was traded his point totals had gone down for the second straight season. I'd like to think Yzerman would want more for Bertuzzi. Now I don't see anyone paying that much but I also don't see him being traded.

Help me understand why the Anaheim trade would be even remotely attractive for the Ducks. Stolarz has arguably been better than Gibson this year, and is locked in for another year at less than $1M.

Meanwhile, you're sending a worse, older goalie on an expiring contract as a UFA that's more expensive. And then a 4th liner who can't crack 10mins per game who is also a UFA on an expiring contract.. to a team that's rebuilding 🤔
