There are some players in trade rumours. But I could honestly see Hextall keep an almost identical team together. Maybe just some trades here and there but it’d have to be depth trades. It’s hard to see bigger trades happening considering Hextall is pretty much the opposite of JR and holds on to 1st rounders.

Which is completely the wrong approach to take. I hope others in the organization can sway him. They should go all in this year as it’s most likely the last great chance at a cup with this core.

It’s been the same thing that it has been for the past few years. It’s always our last chance and yet we keep getting in the playoffs. Although it’d be pretty nice to get the players that can definitely bring us over the top

Yes, but it’s increasingly unlikely the core will be in tact after this year

If you’re thinking Geno, Letang, and Rust is all going to walk, you’re fooling yourself a little bit. There’s a lot of cap space to work with and a lot of negotiating to do with them.

Not all, but I highly doubt all 3. And i think the biggest piece (Letang) is gonna be the one to walk. Then what?

I honestly doubt it. There’s still a lot of time left till free agency starts to get them extensions. They all have been Pens all their careers and to me it just seems like they have no interest in leaving Pittsburgh.

If they had no interest in leaving they would be signed. Rust and Letang at this point are more likely than not to leave. Malkin is most likely to stay (but unfortunately I think he would be my last pick of the 3 if I had to choose)

There’s always players that’ll hold out until the off-season to sign a contract cause they aren’t always focused on the next contract. More so focused on the season. I’m confident that they’ll be back. Of course I could be wrong but I mostly see them as Pens for quite some time

I hope so! But we’ll see. They either need to sign all 3 and go all in or rebuild IMO
