Whats the price for Bertuzzi

Created by: zackvillani
Team: 2021-22 New York Islanders
Initial Creation Date: Mar. 17, 2022
Published: Mar. 17, 2022
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
There are recent reports saying that the Islanders have inquired about Tyler Bertuzzi. Would love if the Isles traded for him for a reasonable price. Also interesting the Isles reached out to him because he is unvaccinated and Lou Lamb is strict with vaccine rules. So what would an Isles Redwings trade or asking price for Bertuzzi look like?

They would only have interest in the 2022 1st, Dobson or Wahlstrom. Isles wouldn’t give any of those up for Bertuzzi so there’s no deal to be made

Yzerman traded Mantha for 1st, a 2nd, Vrana and Panik (who was just there to make the cap work. Bertuzzi is way more consistent and has improved each season. When Mantha was traded his point totals had gone down for the second straight season. I'd like to think Yzerman would want more for Bertuzzi. Now I don't see anyone paying that much but I also don't see him being traded. Since Detroit obviously doesn't have a problem with Bertuzzi not being vaxed I don't see them discounting him because of his vax status.

Assuming Dobson isn't on the table, Wings would ask for your 22 and 23 1sts which I'd guess is too much for Isles.

1 A+ asset (high 1st round pick or top prospect), 1 A asset (mid to late 1st round pick or top 5 prospect) and 1 B level asset (2nd round pick or top 20 prospect)

My guess is they'd want Wilde, a 1st, and maybe some NHL veteran like Beau.

Bode Wilde is of little interest to Detroit, we're set on RD for a decade and Wilde only have one more year of waiver exemption and isn't playing very well in Sweden this season.

There is no reason for Detroit to trade Bertuzzi so any offer would have to be an overpayment for Yzerman to bite. Something like a 1st + Räty + a good replacement player would be needed. Detroit is happy to keep Bert, that definitely factors into what offer will have a chance of being accepted.

Yeah that would be an easy decline from the isles. Their 1st rd pick is not being included in any trade unless it’s for a top line forward under the age of 25

Had Raty initially in my offer, but don't think Isles want to give him up especially with the year he's had.

Islanders is likely not a team that would go after Bert.

I take all this speculation as nothing but "tire kicking", there really is no reason for Yzerman to get rid of Bert. He's a point-per-game producer that plays boths sides and both PP and PK and is the forward on the team with the best +/- of all. He's also very well liked by his team-mates and the fans. It really would take a massive overpayment for any offer to be considered.

I agree which is why it was strange to see him come up. Would love the Blues to get him because they could use him and would be cheaper than someone like Matthew Tkachuk.

Thomas straight up would get Steve interested... We'll take Scandella off your books to make the money work too...

Yeah Blues won't do that. Creating a hole to fill another isn't for the Blues. Honestly, Blues don't have what it takes. Maybe ROR for Bertuzzi straight up, lol.

Wahlstrom/Raty+Bode Wilde+Islanders 2022/2023 1st round pick is a good conversation. Wahlstroms father was a Diehard Red Wings fan.

Fine then Raty needs to be included or Bertuzzi wont be an Isander, Detroit doesn't have to move Bert and Yzerman wont deal him unless he gets blown away by an offer he can't refuse. And i don't see that coming from the islanders.

You're right about that, Bertuzzi won't be an Islander. No chance Lou would include either of Raty or Wahlstrom for one year of Bertuzzi

Who says Bertuzzi would be a one year player, Yzerman isn't dealing Bertuzzi with one year in mind. if Bertuzzi is dealt it would be similar to the Seth Jones deal where the acquiring GM can talk to his agent and work out a long term extension. Yzerman isn't dealing Bertuzzi with only one year in mind.

Bertuzzi is going to want to get paid based on this season and teams are going to want to see if he can keep up this pace. It is highly unlikely he signs an extension with a team this summer, he doesn't have the same reputation as Seth jones.

Isles would have no interest in a long term deal, they need to pay Barzal , Wahlstrom , and Dobson in the next 2 years.
