        For me,

        Sandin
        Niemela
        Knies
        Liljegren
        Robertson

It is very unlikely Dubas trades any of these 5 players for a rental. I would look at Hirvonen who is a B+/A- prospect and Abruzzese who has been bumped up to a B+/A- prospect in the past year. One of those 2 players plus a 1st is already more value than what Chiarot returned.

He is reported as the leafs top target

i have not seen a single quote that states anything other than reporters like friedman speculating that he is a top target. Not a single one has even said "sources tell me that Lindholm is a top leafs target" or whatever. Friedman also speculated that Chariot was a leafs top target, and Manson and lots of other players that they never came close to acquiring

IDK why Leafs fans are so hesitant to give up one of these players for someone as good as Lindholm, if Leafs can roll out a left side of Reilly, Lindholm, and Muzzin id include Liljgren or Robertson and if Sandin cant play the right side on pair 3 let him sit a few games in playoffs.

Its because the player doesnt come with term. Leafs got burned last year with Foligno and dont want to have that happen again with Lindholm

lets pretend that Lindholm is the leafs top target, the initial point doesnt change, the leafs are not giving up top prospects or 1sts for him. Because if you're gonna take those reporters word for it then you gotta take Dubas' word for it too. So make your realistic proposal without them if you want to use direct quotes.
and as far as direct quotes go, my favourite current one is "curious to hear from leafs fans" because that one doesnt seem true if you arnt being told exactly what you want to hear

I was curious to hear from leaf fans about the players I listed, I wasnt curious to hear a Leaf fan be so stuck in an opinion that is opposite of multiple trusted insiders reports because they dont like it

Friedman, Servalli, Pagnotta and more have reported he is the Leafs top target.

He isnt the top target if Dubas isnt willing to pay the asking price

You not liking reality doesnt change it

For sure, Foligno ended up being a crap shoot once he hurt his back, but Foligno was only ever going to play 12-17 minutes a night, we are talking about a legit top 4(at least) defenseman who's going to play 20+ minutes a night, i'd be happy to add one of Gio or Lindholm to the lineup in the top 4

Foligno was slated to be on the top line (at least thats where he started). Lindholm is good and would easily be top 4 behind Rielly. If there was some sort of extension in place im sure the Leafs would have no problem anti-ing up for him
