it is hard to predict prospect when so young. he is 4th best this draft better then where you put him

How do you choose Foote, Liljegren, Vilardi and Patrick before Hischier?

Also, Swayman would be way higher on my list.

Because him/Patrick were projected first overall

He was a decent pick, would go around 5 in a redraft. Much better than Patrick

Nico is great player. I think 4 in this draft. Maybe not same flair as makar or pettersson but better leader.

Jason Robertson is around 1.0 PPG in his first 100 games. How anyone doesn't have him in the Top 5 right now is beyond me.

Foot and Liljegren aren't that good. They haven't shown anything that would suggest they should be this high.

Vilardi, Patrick, Yamamoto too high

Batherson, Thomas, Swayman, Norris far too low

You know the funny thing is NJ was supposed to pick 5th but won the lottery , if you lost and stayed at 5 you'd probably have Pettersson at center and not Nico.
If I ranked them now I'd go
Maker
Heiskenen
Pettersson
Robertson
Hiesher

Definitely higher but not quite 5. Makar, Heiskanen, Pettersson, Robertson, Thomas, Hischier, Norris and Suzuki are ahead of him.

Age 16: shows up on radar at Int’l tournaments
Age 17: taken as 6th pick in import draft
Age 18: take as 1st pick in NHL Draft
Age 19: named 1st line center
Age 20: makes all star team
Age 21: named youngest captain in NHL

Why should NJ be disappointed in their pick? Nico is a great player and good fit for the Devils. He was a guy that started the 16-17 season on the 1st / 2nd bubble. While Nolan Patrick was slatted to be a franchise center and a lock for #1 overall. Both Cale Makar and Miro Heiskanen were late risers as well.

The Devils took the guy perceived to be the “riskier” choice. They had considered both Patrick and Makar as well. And ended up with one of the safer selections in the draft.

Hischier: 52gp-16g-24a-40pts (0.77 ppg)
Pettersson: 60gp-18g-24a-42pts (0.70 ppg)
Vilardi: 10gp-1g-0a-1pt (0.10 ppg)
Patrick: 21gp-2g-5a-7pts (0.33 ppg)

Offensively, he has put up some solid numbers that often get overshadowed by Hughes. The rest of his game, defensively, on special teams, face-offs have all been consistent with a top pick in this draft.

If a redraft were to be conducted today, Makar would be clear #1 in my book. The following tier would have a handful of guys.

Tier I: Makar
Tier II: Hischier, Heiskanen, Pettersson, Thomas, Robertson
Tier IiI: Necas, Suzuki, Norris, Oettinger
