The only way Chychrun to Calgary makes any sense is if Kylington is a core piece going back

I don't really mind the idea, but I think Zadorov might want to test free agency and I wouldn't give up assets for him as a rental.

CBJ accept.

I’d also be interested in Monaghan for CBJ. If he can be had for cheap, I feel he’s worth taking a one-year gamble on. Since I’m not sure he’s really much of an add-on for a trade for a guy like Chychrun…

3rd and a rec project? Something around Bemstrom or Foudy would probably be of interest

I could see a 3rd and Bemstrom.

Anyway we could do CBJ 4th and Bemstrom? Since our 3rd is TBL's, the 4th is only a few spots back of it, and that's a decent chunk of salary to take on...

I would probably do that, depends though since Ducks fans are offering Steel and a 3rd. And Steel is more of a center than Bemstrom. Either way it's a decent base idea

Yeah, if you’re looking for more of a Monaghan replacement, the closest CBJ would have to offer is…well…Stenlund.

Solid B6 center. PP2 guy. His development timeline unfortunately just didn’t match with where CBJ were/are.

I think Dube's going to end up moving to center after Monahan is moved but having options is always nice. How are Bemstrom's defensive and physical game?

At least based on the eye test, he's not terribly physical, but I've heard/ seen a few decent things about his defense. But it's hard for me to really say.

His skill-set has always projected more as a T6/M6 scorer (he signed his ELC after leading the SHL in U20 goal-scoring). After a good rookie year, Torts pushed him into a B6 role, which felt kind of like a square peg-round hole situation. He's bounced on-and-off healthy scratches and injuries ever since.

From my understanding he is a speedy wing with decent offensive intuition. decent at goal scoring and is gritty. Yeah I would probably take a shot on him. Don't think he'll win a spot over Pelletier next year for the 3rd line but he could get a shot with Ruzicka (presumably) on the 4th

I kind of wouldn't be, mostly because I think he's another finisher on a team that needs a playmaker, and he's been Not Good. Guess it depends on how cheap the cost is.

In particular, I wouldn't give up Bemstrom.

Reasonable minds can disagree, for sure.

I just don’t see space for Bemstrom going forward, and am willing to gamble on Monahan bouncing back as a trade chip/ long-term asset for a 4th rounder. I even think CGY would be willing to package a pick it pick swap with him, depending on how they see their off-season shaking out.

But I’m not losing sleep if we don’t end up with him.
