Even then im hesitant. Knies is looking to be someone who could be very useful for us in a year or two. He reminds me of Hyman but with a better shot and a bit less defense. He is a puck guarding, net driving machine with size and power. Would prefer to keep him if im being honest as we dont got a guy similar to him in our system.

They'd need to include one of Batherson/Sanderson and im not sure Ottawa would do that and pay Debrincat 9 mill

I’d include Pinto and/or Greig and the 2022 1st . And no Debrincat isn’t getting back Sanderson .

That's why I don't think Ottawa will do it, they won't give up the necessary pieces to get him.

I don't think it's really fair to say that Batherson/Sanderson would be 'necessary'; we have no way of knowing that. They'd certainly be on my list of potential pieces coming back if I were Chicago but, imo, Ottawa has the pieces to make a very competitive offer for Debrincat without including either of those two.

A 2022 1st and an A prospect/young player would be the starting point IMO. I don't think quantity would get it done.

Our 2022 1st is top 5. It’s not a regular 1st. Also Greig and Pinto are very underrated and will only be moved for a player the caliber of Debrincat . Sanderson isn’t being moved unless it’s McDavid we are discussing

I think he will be better somewhere else . Maybe on Zegras’s Left wing or with Pettersson.

I think he will definitely thrive with good line mates. Kinda hard to develop on the third line

Also you noticed it too with Lavoie. Players tend to struggle from Q to NHL or AHL
