Leafs getting ready for the playoffs

Created by: Wulfgar85
Team: 2021-22 Toronto Maple Leafs
Initial Creation Date: Mar. 18, 2022
Published: Mar. 18, 2022
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
First off Marzek. Some goalies can handle the pressure of playing for the blue and white some cannot, he can not. I choose they yotes but any team willing to take him can have him. He's still a good 1B goalie,.

I feel safer with Campbell and Kallgren in net.

I like The D set up as
Rielly - Lyubushkin
Gio/Muzz - Brodie
Sandin - liljegren

When fully healthy one of Muzz, Sandin or liljegren will have to be in the press box.

As for the top 6 I would go
Bunting - Matthews - Nylander ( I think Nylander will be fine up on the first line with Matthews)

Lehkonen - JT - Marner ( JT and marner work better than JT and Nylander. Lehkonen will be the Hyman type player, doesn't need to be fancy just grind and win the puck battles, cause havoc in front of the night.

3rd line is our shutdown line, 4 the line can be a speedy energy line or, mean and rough line depending who we are facing in the playoffs.

You won’t even have a sniff of
Lehkonen for that!

With what's happening in the Atlantic right now I'm sorry but Leafs are likely a first round exit again.

Canucks don’t want Dermott at all. He literally has negative value to the Canucks because he takes up a roster spot. You’re not getting Motte for that trash

Don't want Lehkonen, might have to use that pick to move Mrazek anyways.

Don't see the point in moving Mikheyev and bringing in Motte.

Lehkonen is a first+
Motte is at least a third, I'd say a second+

Hagel got 2 1sts + 2 2nds, no way Montreal gives up Lehkonen for less than 2 1sts. Hagel is slightly better (8 goals and 9 points more) so that is accounted for in the extra 2 2nds.

Hughes laughs in your face. You’d expect that to be followed by hanging up the phone but instead you hear a crash on the other line. It’s Hughes falling off his chair in uncontrollable laughed at the thought that you actually thought a late second and a replaceable d man on a bad contract would get Lehkonen AFTER seeing what Hagel got

A 2nd feels like too much for Mikheyev, but NSH doesn't need him anyway.

The only one of these that isn't really bad is the 4th one. And Nashville probably doesn't do it.

But is salary must be taken in count here. Hagel is a good players but the main reason Tampa pay that much was for the 3 years at 1,5 millions. I do think Montreal would like to get a solid prospect instead of pick since they already have 4 first round pick in the upcoming 2 draft. Or a first round pick unprotected for the 2023 draft. If it’s anything less than that they will keep him.

His salary is not that much less 600K this year (and we can retain on that), plus while he does need an extension Tampa can take it to arbitration and get an additional year at a relatively low cap hit again (maybe 2.5 mil ish) so they get 2 years instead of 3 with Lehky, Still worth 2 1sts IMO

Arbitration will probably settle something near the 3 millions mark this year so Tampa would have a hard time keeping him after this season. I don’t think it’s reasonable to expect 2 first round pick. But like i said a highly regard prospect would certainly be more appealing then first round pick. I think Washington are pretty aggressive on Lehkonen but will they want to gave up Lapierre that’s the question.
