Gut the roster

Created by: Wadejos123
Team: 2021-22 Chicago Blackhawks
Initial Creation Date: Mar. 18, 2022
Published: Mar. 18, 2022
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
Anyone not a part of the core going forward should be on the block. If you move Hagel, especially for picks 2-3 years from now, you pretty much commit to a 3+ year rebuild. I view the core as Debrincat, Dach, Reichel, and Seth Jones (sigh). Hawks should be open for business everywhere else.

Toews and Kane have earned the respect of deciding their own fate, as well as having NMC's anyways. Have the yough conversation with them in the offseason and honor their wishes, whatever that might be

Hawks fans have to be praying they don't win the lottery this year and pick 1 or 2.

I think Dubas is looking at Tampa and Florida and he is like okay even if we somehow get by one there is no way we are beating both of them. We aren't winning this year lets just hold onto our picks and try next year. Fix the goaltending and defence in the offseason

That's the most loser mentality I've ever heard of. Dubas of all people should know that all it takes is one freak injury in the playoffs to change everything

First I’ll say I’m not totally opposed to the Oilers deal……However, if I may.

Counter proposal.

not entirely a no to Strome, but he has one year left and makes 3 million.

Oilers.

1st - 2022
2nd - 2023
Higher end prospect

Kirby Dach.

That’s what Edmonton would want.

Edmonton isn't getting Dach. Hawks could take Koskinen back to help with money for additional adds, but they're not moving Dach.

I mean, winning the lotto next year would be better of course, but if you give me the options of winning it this year or like a 20% chance next year i'll pick this year every time

Would have to be Holloway. Trading Dach is like trading Hagel but even worse cuz he's younger and a former 3 OA pick. Would take a haul

Bedard Michkov > Wright Cooley or really anyone at 2

It's not even close. Just a personal opinion, but this team was going to struggle already next year, gutting it only makes it worse. Time will tell I guess.

I agree, I'm just saying there's no guarentee you win the lotto next year. And this team is still far from the absolute worst roster in the league

Again just my personal opinion but it’s not just Bedard or Michkov. If I’m CHI I desperately want to own their own 1st rounder in 2023. Fantilli, Dvorsky, Yager to name a few. Like generational talents. That’s not the case in 2022.

I get to watch Fantilli every so often when he comes into Madison to play the Capitols. Dude's massive and oozes talent. Probably wouldnt call it generational, but better than probably everyone in this draft except Wright. But your point stands. Absolutely need to have that chance to win Bedard and Michkov, especially if we're selling our guys off and Fleury doesnt come back
