I would miss the hell out of Toews, but, much like the return for Hagel, this is an offer CHI couldn't refuse. That being said, I highly doubt Minnesota even considers this.

Guerin would be fired if he made that trade, Giving up futures for one year of Toews is insane. With the Wilds cap crunch you can't afford him after next season. Giving up that much is pure insanity.

1) Toews isn't the player he used to be.

2) We can't afford him. He's too damn expensive. We can't realistically afford Fiala unless everything goes right, and yet you want to add a player that costs $10.5M?

3) Toews is 33, and regressing fast. While Rossi is 20, and has his entire career ahead of him and will be on his ELC for the entire stretch of the heavy deadcap years.

Essentially, that trade is insane. At this point, I wouldn't move Rossi for Toews 1v1.

Clearly the Toews in my head is still the guy from 3 years ago and old hockey players go off a cliff. So yeah, but overpay and not feasible capwise. I guess part of me isn't seeing any way out of the Wild's situation other than building through the draft and that's no fun on CF.
