When you factor in contract, I'd rather have Yamamoto than Debrincat.

Past 3 years 5v5 scoring comp

NSH wouldn't trade Jeannot for a Hagel-like return. The best you could get from the Preds for this package is maybe Phil Myers.

I don’t think you understand how to read those comments. It starts with Holloway not adding him to that package. I’m not even a CHI fan and I know that’s the piece that it starts with.

I just don't think Edmonton could realistically swing a Cat trade. He's got 1 year left at 6.4, and he'd probably score 40 with McDavid. Then what does he ask for? 8M+?

Just not realistic. Plus giving up 4+ years of low cap hit Holloway would be a bummer.

You should look at the facts rather than reputation. The fact that you think Yamamoto is worth less than a 1st means your opinion isn't worth listening to... so stick to facts. Like the ones at the link I posted.

Wishing away bad contracts does not work. your offering a 3rd round to absorb 5M in cap space. Az can get much more from others.

Why would Edmonton? He's an undersized winger who is a mild upgrade on Yamamoto when they already have a full retinue of wingers and NONE of them carry the cap hit Debrincat does. Have you SEEN Edmonton's cap situation?

Holloway on his ELC first the next couple of years is far more valuable to a cap strapped team like Edmonton than Debrincat.

Past 3 years 5v5
Past 3 years 5v4 PP
Past 3 years 4v5 PK

Debrincat is slightly better at scoring than Yamamoto, but the massive gap in contract values means Yamamoto is more valuable to Edmonton. They aren't adding 3 more 1st and a 2nd just to get a slight upgrade and a worse cap situation than they have now.

You don't have to like it, but those are the facts.

Like seriously what?

DeBrincat is .81 ppg player
Yamamoto is .47 ppg player

Like I think you need to redefine what you think is slightly. DeBrincat scores at almost double the rate. Secondly do you think CHI would give 2 shakes about EDM cap issues, they would want max value for a young top scorer.

Debrincat: 115 GP, 66 goals, 46 assists, 112 points. 0.57 goals per game and 0.97 points per game
Yamamoto: 113 GP, 23 goals, 25 assists, 48 points. 0.2 goals per game and 0.42 points per game

Cat has almost 3x as many goals and more than double the amount of points. Just stop this argument already, you're wrong
