Haven’t seen Braun play this year. But if he’s able to just play lockdown defense I’d like him over rutta

Justin Braun would be a solid add by the Bolts, And more then likely only cost a 3rd rounder.

The analytics love him this season, he’s a right handed MCD

He would be a solid add. However, the only way it would work is if Tampa moved Rutta in the deal, and Philly retained at least 500k, or Tampa traded Foote in a separate deal and then had Philly max retain plus a 3rd team retain a very small amount for like a 7th(50-100k). Tampa still seems to believe in Foote long term, so I doubt they would move Foote unless it was an amazing offer. Rutta has had some good chemistry with Hedman, but if the team feels like Rutta is unlikely to re-sign and Braun would(for what they can offer), then perhaps. The age difference is also a factor, as Rutta is 4 years younger I believe? In the end I think Tampa runs with the D corp they currently have, but if they feel Braun can be kept for the right price for 1-2 years while prospects like Thompson and possibly Schmidt get ready, then it could work. I’d say no more than a 25% chance though.
