Verbeek has a high IQ

Team: 2022-23 Anaheim Ducks
Initial Creation Date: Mar. 19, 2022
Published: Mar. 19, 2022
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
With a good chance of them missing the playoffs, good on Verbeek to get as much as he can at the deadline. A good chance Lindholm comes back next season. Lots of cap room to sign good players.

Agreed great job this deadline, but lindholm is not coming back. Apparently a deal is close with Boston. If an extension was possible he would still be a duck

Maybe they sign a Klingberg instead? Fowler-Drysdale, Ruuta-Klingberg is a great top 4.

So Verbeek tried to extend Lindholm for the last 2 months and now all of sudden he wants to go back to Anaheim after being traded and playing on a better team who makes the playoffs every year and is going to play top pair minutes with Mcavoy when his team clearly did not want to commit to a long term contract with Drysdale coming up?

I wasn't aware they've been in contract negotiations for 2 months. You're right, he'll probably resign in Boston. Great move by Verbeek nonetheless.

Need a defensive guy IMO. some veteran to play with Drysdale. Don't see the fit with Klingberg. Obviously won't happen, but a Giordano/Drysdale pair as a good veteran would be good to see. Whatever veteran is on the market to play with him. I wonder if dermott goes to Anaheim for a pick

Agreed Verbeek made a great move Vaak will immediately play in their lineup once he’s healthy but ya Verbeek said last two months if an extension could not be reached he would trade Lindholm Rakell and Manson
