In general if the Leafs perform like they are rn in the post season and commit to this new way of playing and Campbell returns to form they are fine. As we saw against Carolina what they can do when they put their mind to it.

That 2nd line gets cold too fast, no matter whose on that wing. I think Matthews and Marner can figure it out in the playoffs, iunno Nylander got hot last year but that was without Tavares (not blaming him) but hoping they don't flame out this year.

hey I dont like Gio for the Toronto Maple Leafs but that is a great trade by Dubas. Gio is a useful piece IG, maybe he gets hot during the run. but Blackwell is a UNDERRATED pick up.

thats a great move by Dubas to kick with Gio for a cup run. that is more of a trade for Blackwell than Gio imo. I think its fair and the Leafs lost no prospects.

Funny enough when they put Robertson there it woke up

When Matthews was out that whole line was playing as if all the guys were Matthews

Its like Matthews being out motivated everyone to work hard

He comes back everyone becomes lazy again.

To me Toronto should play every game as if he was out. As we saw against Carolina that was Toronto's best game of the season. And it was without him.

Actually it's close.

Bunting = Palat
Matthews > Point
Marner < Kucherov
Mikheyev <<< Killorn
Tavares >> Cirelli
Nylander = Stamkos
Kerfoot = Coleman
Kampf << Gourde
Kase = Goodrow

Quoting: DucharmetheDOMinator
Reilly << Hedman
Lybushkin = Rutta
Giordano > McDonough
Sergachev = Muzzin
Cernak > Sandin
Savard << Brodie

justaboss

I'm not talking about level, I'm talking about performance. TB forwards, defense and goalies have all performed better than whatever Leafs have had in the past.

Also part of those are complete bs. In no world is Bunting equal to Palat, Nylander equal to Stamkos or Giordano better than McDonagh.

Dorion trades Demelo cuz he wants too much money. Now is trading Paul for the same thing. But goes and replaces Demelo with Hamonic and keeps Zaitsev. And will probably replace Paul with Kassian . I’ve given up on him lol

Yep. Last two playoffs, Brayden Point has been the best hockey player on earth.

Well we can’t exactly take in account playoff performances in the future so I’m not exactly sure how you plan on evaluating playoff success…

So in total here, it adds up:
10 points from leafs forwards, and 6 points for lightning forwards

The 2nd line has been out shot and out scored all season. Until Keefe wakes up and splits up Tavares Nylander and Matthews Marner, it is going to be a quick out cause teams will only have to worry about shutting down the top line.

If no more moves happen, for me the best lineup is:
Nylander Matthews Kase (if healthy)
Bunting Tavares Marner
Engvall Kampf Mikheyev
Kerfoot Blackwell Anderson/Seney

Rielly Liljegren
Gio Brodie
Sandin 🐻

Oh god dont make me watch Rielly-Liligren again...

I know that pairing generated a bunch of chances but the amount of goals that happened because of those 2 as well ugh...

Dont put Kallgren through that.

I really want SJ to do something - I just have no idea what it is.

And with teams reportedly laughing at the Sharks ask for Middleton (per Sheng); I assume its gonna be quiet.
But wouldn't it be nice to see Fletcher send like Morgan Frost and a couple 3rds to SJ for Middleton

Agreed, its just in the post season last year he was really outworked and turnover the puck a bit to much.

But maybe he has taken that next step and will be in over Holl

We shall see.

Muzzin-Sandin on the third pair should be fine
