Fair Value, not a steal, 8 years might be much, but it makes us able to trade him later in times so its a good deal

Jezz, Lindholm will regret this when the Bruins are in a four year rebuild.

Solid cap hit, term is a bit much

As long as the cap goes up steadily this is perfectly fine

6.5x 6 years would have been better because of his age.

The final 2 years probs gonna get bought out.

If anything, this justifies the trade for him. Both teams made out well.

This makes me hate the trade a little less from the Bruins end of things. Not as bad as people seem to make it out to be. Lindholm - McAvoy should be fun

The other shoe drops, making the trade a good one for both teams, and explaining the delay that required him to be held out of Friday's game. And I'll bet that the contract is significantly front-loaded, so that he can be bought out without too much pain in years 7 and 8.

I'm happy for Hampus and the Bruins. I hope he has five or six great years there.

Boston always shoots for the quick retool. Nashville's success this season is likely further encouragement to keep doing what they're doing.

Emm, they don't have enough futures in their system to do a quick retool right now, they will have to stop sending over picks to other teams.

Picks are relatively easy to come by, I think. I know it doesn't seem that way, but if Boston has a bad year some time in the next 2-3 years, they have plenty of talent on relatively reasonable contracts to trade for picks if need be.

Makes the trade look better since it's not just a rental anymore. Perfectly fine with that aav, 8 yrs is a bit much but I'll take that for a good 6 yrs of him and McAvoy solidifying that top pairing

The contract is front loaded too so it'll be easier to move him or buy him out in yr 6-8

I still don't like their current prospect pool and their going to be going for it as long as they have Pasta, the rat, Bergeron and Lindholm, and McCovoy.

If he can get back to how he played a few years ago this will be worth it. But at his current level of play, it's a bad contract

So my prediction in my earlier comment is borne out now that we know the details -- not just years 7 and 8, but year 6 is comfortably low, too.

I know I'm not making a good comparison because stats don't tell the picture. But...

Lindholm..In 60 games, 22 points, zero plus minus. Bruins paid to get him, and then a 28 year old gets a 6.5m X 8 contract

The worse Dman in the NHL according to CF followers, Justin Holl. 50 games, 14 points, 12 plus minus, 2m a year.

By the way there is pain for a buyout after six years. Two years of 3.6m and two years at 1.6m. total 9.8m

Bruins always get the player they want to sign a contract with reasonable AAV.

I don't think there is market as attractive for the players than Boston. Must be nice.

Well, Holl can't play #1LD opposite McAvoy, and Lindholm can.

Plus-minus is deceiving unless you consider the teams' respective goal differentials.

And $9.8 million is a lot better than, not to mention half of, $19.5 million.
