Toronto gets a KHL goalie. He played rather good this season. But there were some serious consistency issues over the past couple of years to the extent that Sibir fans wanted him out asap. My take: let someone claim him and try again.

UPD: don’t judge by his stats. He can have 10 horrible games and then make a couple of shutouts to compensate. It really depends on his mood.

Wow that's some rough news!

Where can we find the goalies that put up a 0.926 SV% every single night?

Nobody s perfect) But with him it is really important that he is in a mood. And by the eye test, if he thinks he is not doing well, he just stops trying and thinks that the game is done, that is not good for the Leafs.

This guy couldn’t crack Det’s roster headlined by a 35yo Jimmy Howard! I’m sure this will work out well

Look out David Ayers. Another aging zamboni driving goalie is after your 6th string emergency goalie roster spot.

Gotta give him props. He (along with several other players) terminated his KHL contract while his team was mid-playoffs (and he had been playing), not knowing if he'd be able to get a contract outside of Russia. I remember when there was a lot of talk about how amazing he'd be for the Sharks "in a few years." This was quite a long time ago, though. Glad to see he found something, hopefully he gets to play.

I don't understand why Toronto had to put him on waivers. I guess it's because they were planning to send him to the Marlies, but I hear they've waived Mrazek too, and it's now two hours after the deadline and I haven't heard that they've acquired another goalie, so what's their plan? Campbell and Kjallgren? Seems risky to count on those two to take you to the Cup. I hope Campbell was playing hurt before he went on IR, and and when he's fully recovered he'll return to form and stay healthy, since Kjallgren is still pretty much unproven. This isn't the SHL.
