You are getting injury insurance for a playoff run in exchange for essentially nothing. About three quarters of 7th round picks never play in the NHL. Not a single game.

Yeah, he just wasn't available for most of the season after an injury he suffered pretty early on. He just got back in the lineup a little while ago, so I'd expect him to settle back in with some more playtime

Stetcher was like a fine #4 by the numbers last time I looked. Considering the price paid for a 3.5 in Chiarot this is a steal. LA doing smart business as every contender should have made this trade for the depth and insurance they all need.

Stecher and Dermott are comparable, just one is a rental and the other has term left.

7th to 3rd Rd pick difference in value.

I absolutely love Stecher. He's had a rough year so far, probably entirely due to his coming off a big injury, but he's a very good defensive player and a shot-blocking machine. Steal for LA, especially if he re-signs.
