Description
I wouldn't hate to see us go for it. If Vladdy still wants out, we can re-coup some assets and we will have our D locked in for 3 seasons. We will have a solid top 9 still and if Binner plays to the level we know he can, we will be a contender for this year and next at least. If we don’t get a top pairing LD to play with parayko we don’t realistically have a shot this year. We need someone to play that role and allow CP to elevate his game back to 2019 levels.

As far as the trade goes:
No room for perunivich if we get friendly contract top 4 LD locked up for the next 3 season. There’s nowhere for him to play and develop into a valuable player. Give him to Arizona where he could play the role he needs to to become something. Army drafted Kostin in the 1st round and he’s got potential. I think together, Perunovich and kostin equal at least a 1st rd. Bolduc is a solid prospect definitely equivalent to a 1st. I know they would want neighbors but I think this would suffice in the place as the best piece. He’s putting up great numbers in the Q and has a lot of potential as a LW or C. Then the actual 1st makes the 3rd 1st rd equivalent. Since it will be late I added the extra second to make the offer more likely and also carry some of the weight from scandella.
The scandella part. Washkurak is like a C+ prospect and A 3rd round pick to take scandella. Like I said, some of the value from the second could cover this. These assets to take scandella seems fair. Scandella also gives AZ a servicable(albeit not great) LD to have under contract for 2 years where it’s going to be difficult for them to sign FAs since they are gonna be real bad and play in a college arena. Help get them to the cap floor. From the blues perspective, we needs to get rid of scandella and his contract. It will give us much more wiggle room and improve the team cause berube won’t feel like he needs to play him as our 1LD

A lot of quantity, not sure how much quality. Essentially, the best bid is going to have the equivalent of 4 1sts in the trade for Chychrun.

Everything I’ve seen has said 3 1st equivalents and in description I said how this fufills that and some extra. Some of the stuff is to make the cap work and get rid of scandella

Ya that gets it done for sure. If not then I’m not sure what else you can do.

I should have specified, 4 1sts with two of them likely having top 6/top 4 potential. Kostin will be 23 in May with no consistency in the NHL, at this point he's a borderline reclamation project. I would take Turcotte, Grans, 1st rounder from LA over this package in a heartbeat. Perunovich will be 24 in August. It's not like you're offering intriguing prospects. These players need to find their game quickly. Just doesn't make a lot of sense from AZ's perspective. They need draft picks/teenagers in a return.

First, Bolduc, Scotty P, all are first values
So definitely wrong there

I get what you're saying and I don't necessarily disagree. However, Armstrong drafted all these players so theres that connection that helps this offer. Also, they wanted NHL ready piece as well. Kostin and Perunovich fill that role. Perunovich can be a top 4 LD no doubt, Kostin slots as a 3rd/4th liner but those are important. Bulduc is a 19 yo top 6 projected forward who plays center and LW. so that meets your criteria and so does the 1st rd pick. Plus a second just for fun. As far as that offer from LA, Turcotte is 21 and hasn't really taken a step froward in his second season in the AHL which is not what you want to see as a top 5 pick. I think a lot of scouts aren't as high on him as they once were. Grans would be a good piece, essentially a young perunovich but hes also been linked to vancouver a lot so who knows if they want to make that offer.

I mean, you don't just get cost-controlled top pairing defensemen for nothing. Plus, our window isn't open for that much longer and we need this piece if we want to be competitive. It also costs something to get rid of a bad contract. This would definitely be a smart move if Arizona would take it.

Would rather go for provorov Sanheim or soucy

Hahaha what?Fifty games into his NHL career and he's a reclamation project now. Glorious.

I agree with one of the flyers players. Definitely a good option for us. I think soucy helps us but I dont think hes able to play a top pairing shutdown role with parayko. If the price is cheap I don't think it would hurt

Blues definitely need a top pair d-man/young defenseman/ young players period. I'm still angry that Army drafted Kostin over Hague in that draft.

A 1st round pick having played only 50 games since his draft year in 2017 is concerning, yes. Kravtsov in NYR is in a similar spot as well.

Sure, maybe it's concerning if you don't watch the player or understand his history. Kostin is coming along fine - he just needs to learn to stop taking penalties.
