I would say Miller is worth that. He would certainly make the top 6 insane for 2 years

It’s not too much for Miller . Have you seen the market? Hagel just went for two firsts and he’s not even half the player Miller is? Where how is it too much?

And it’s pretty much a cap dump for Holl the Chara trade and we’re getting a future asset in return ?

Yeah, that was a stupid over payment by a team who needed cheap young tallent and is going for a 3rd cup in a row so they dont care about the finer points.
No othet team was offering anything close to that, and no sane team would offer near that for a significantly older, significantly more expensive player with less term.

I don't see Vancouver moving Miller out.

You're giving something interesting on paper for two 1st picks, but the way the Leafs are playing, those would be 25-31st in the first rounds of the draft. With 31 teams in the NHL, those become less intersting since they are basically "2nd" round prospects at this point, plus the retainer on salary would not benefit VAN at this point.

I think Vancouver will keep Miller since he's under 6M/yr and already has 25G and 50P plus another year of contract. Wonder if MTL would consider moving Kulak to Toronto and risk seing him next year if the Leafs find a way to keep him, or will they have a chance to bring him back. Leafs would need a top 4 Dman since Giordano is probably not going to stay around and will most likely sign in a sunny state to end his career, and Leafs only have 8M to spare next year and have Campbell to sign plus a few RFAs..

But kuddos for at least trying to get something big going in TO. I'm a Habs fan, but would wish them the cup if they have the chance now. Been way too long for Leafs fan, it would be something to finally see them going for it while they have Matthews, and Rielly plus a still worhty Tavares to lead the team.

VAN won't retain on a player they aren't too thrilled to trade

Van won't move Miller today unless they are blown away the price given this market is 2 1st and Niemelä if you want him 50% retained Knies is added, Miller is 10th in scoring this year, Only 3 centers have points in the NHL then Him, McDavid, Dristail, Matthews. Miller Plays the Pk and Powerplay and is a good 2 way power forward, anything less won't blow us away

I would say he absolutely is in this market. If you could get him at half off for 2 seasons. It's worth this package. The top 6 would be way better than it is and having a 2nd line of JT with Miller and Nylander is nuts.
