Decent contract. Considering his play this year it's deserved, but he has to keep it up for this to be worth it.

LOL

So the Sens have decided to not have good goaltending. Enjoy that Murray/Forsberg rotation.

A year longer than I'd like, but they weren't upgrading if they let him walk, and the other options this season left them no choice. Murray was a monster for a good stretch of the season, but he can become the other kind of monster at the drop of a hat, and he can't stay healthy. Gus is still promising, but he backslid hard this year.

Another bonus for Ottawa is that a three year extension means at least three more Forsberg masks with the unreasonably horny dog on them.

1. We no longer have to worry about selling Forsberg off at the deadline.

2. Forsberg wants to play for a team that is not a great destination for UFAs and where every player pays about 50% of their salary in taxes.

3. He's being paid 55% of what Linus Ullmark is making in Boston while performing just as good this season statistically on a team that is far worse defensively.

4. Forsberg wants to stick around a team that has had a brutal season and is nowhere close to earning a playoff spot.

5. Forsberg is our best goalie by a mile.

This is a great signing for Ottawa and Forsberg earned it.

Vote yes.

This seems like a contract that will look bad year 1. He's played well this year, but I'm not sure it will hold up. Journeymen goalies tend to fall off the map after a strong run, with Tim Thomas the greatest exception.

I like this deal, as if they keep Murray as their #1, their going to need a back up to play more than average as Murray is prone to injury and sucking far too often. I thought Gustavsson would break out this year, but it didnt happen, still dont believe Murray is the answer. Goalies take longer to develop so hopefully for the Sens one of Forsberg or Gus takes control of the #1 spot soon as both have shown flashes of being a #1.

So Forsburg and Yotes Vejmelka sign three year deals about 2.8m. Last summer Leafs sign Mrzarek at 3.8m X 3. Enough said.

More likely Murray. Career might be over at this point. Multiple head/neck injuries this season alone. Even when he plays they can't trust his play. Can go from great for a few weeks to a complete non option with no warning.

I think it's an option. Maybe it's a mutual termination because Murray seems pretty unhappy. It also would not surprise me if this is just the end of the road for him. At some point it's just not worth ruining your body

I got a sneaking suspicion if he get bought out or terminated

Hes going to reunite with Dubas and Keefe and if we can get him on 1.2mill im fine with that.

As he can perform just sometimes makes dumb decisions.
