Description
Flower would be acquired at this TDL, then we re-sign him.The fiala contract I think is a fair deal, its better than any offer sheet he will get, and hes locked in for 6 years, if he wanted to go shorter term i think Billy G would do that as well. The Dumba/Talbot trade would be at the draft.

Asking price is apparently a 1st, top prospect, and a young NHL player. From us that probably looks like a 1st, Lambos or Addison, and maybe Dewar. Sounds like Fiala is all but gone so we probably keep Dumba.

With how tight the Wild are to the cap, I'm guessing Guerin sees Jost as replacing Fiala's roster spot next year. They really can't afford to have someone making $2m on the 4th line.

I think they plan on a moneyball scenario where Jost and Rossi make up for losing Fiala

Fiala has 81 points in his last 82 games-- I don't see him signing for any less than $7m.

The interesting thing was Russo said the Wild offered Sturm an extension at roughly the same amount as Jost and he said no, so all our guessing that Sturm is gone for nothing to make cap space to keep Fiala seems to be not the plan all along. I guess if nothing else, Boldy coming along surely makes Fiala look more appealing to show what he can do when given 1 skilled linemate. Ottawa will probably be where he ends up since they have prospects and cap space to give him a long-term deal.

And with Fiala's production over the last year, he should fetch a decent return in a trade to help them get through the next couple years with players on either ELCs or cheap bridge deals. It's going to be an interesting summer.

My thing is, Billy G can offer him that 6th year nobody else can do via offer sheet. If somebody gives him 7X6m offer sheet, i doubt billy G matches that. I see billy G going for 6.5 X 6 or 7 with fiala.
