Sad to see Lehky go but its a good return for the Habs. Avs fans are gonna love this guy. Playoff style depth player and clutch despite not playing tons of minutes.

With the returns Montreal is getting, you would think they'd have to be the best and deepest team in the league. Wtf Joe? Barron? For a bottom six player? C'mon man!

Is the strategy in Montreal to hype of players ad nauseum until folks who matter believe it? If so, good on you cuz it's working.

Well, yet another one I was wrong about . . . I never believed that with Timmins and Helleson gone, Sakic would trade Barron.

Lehkonen is a good complementary player but giving up Barron . . . wow.

Slight overpay for Lehkonen. That said, if he’s “the extra ingredient” that gets the Avs to the Cup finals then I think it’s a worthwhile deal.

3rd lines seem to play an outsized role in recent cup winners (think HBK Line, the TBL 3rd line), so it’s not out of the question that this gives the Avs the depth they need to really take it all.

Fair Deal til playoffs happen.

Why couldn't we trade for J.T Miller instead?

A) No first round pick.
B) Sakic not wanting to give up additional assets that would be needed to cover difference in cap hit (betw AL & JTM)

Would a 2023 1st, 2023 2nd plus Barron and another asset have worked? Maybe? Maybe not. Maybe it’s more than was needed for a great team?

Gorton loved to do 1 for 1's which I'm not a big fan of. I like Hughes's reign better so far.

Personally I'm a habs fan, but at this trade, I think that Avs win this trade, but Barron is no prove of any good at this moment. What a joke. Is the Canadiens manager is for real? pfft!

Wow. A former 1st rounder and a 2nd round for what should be a third liner. That's just too much. Montreal gets the win. And it is a one-year contract, so the cap retention won't hurt Montreal net years.

Easy win.

The only way that the Avs win this trade is if Lehkonen stays healthy and contributes to a Stanley Cup win. tall order, but the Habs win this easy.

Spending just the second on Lekhonen might have been fair, if not a slight overpayment.

Adding Justin Barron is absolutely disgusting.

Joe Sakic should be ashamed of himself.

Habs win.

I think people are really underestimating Lehkonen here. This is a good move for both teams.
