Trade Block: Price... Offers?

Description
If the habs were to trade price what NHL teams are possible destinations? What would you offer for price? Looking for a #1C or a #1D to play with weber.

The tricky thing to trading price is he only has 1 year left on his deal. Realistically the only teams interested in price would be contending teams but what contending team would be able to offer a #1C or #1D and stay a contending team. Therefore the most logical trade would have to be a package of a good young player who can become an elite player and some picks. Furthermore this team needs to have weak goaltending to even be interested in price.

Make me some offers so I can get a better idea of the value of price... because I have no idea what he's worth to other teams, I just know what he's worth to montreal.

From Winnipeg
Price - Connor, Little, 2017 First.
That's a fantastic prospect, a number 1 centre for one year and a first.

thinking out loud.
at first i was thinking chi town but there would be too many moving parts there and with too many players on NMC not likely but why does it have to be contending team? it could sure be a up and coming team... calgary? Winnipeg? and i am sure both of those team would have what it takes to pull off something like that but its hard to see price getting moved cause if price gets moved you will also have to get an goalie back. Wennipeg could give one of its future goalie on a trade so .... Hellebuyck, 1st, Trouba and something else.
great question. lets see what everyone else has to say.

It doesn't have to be a contending team but any team that is trading for potentially only 1 year of price will have to be going for the cup I would think. If you trade for price you risk losing him in free agency after his contract is up. If I were to trade price I would target Bishop in free agency... if montreal could get a good return for price and somehow manage to sign Bishop, the team would be much better off than keeping price in my opinion. If they can't sign bishop you are right though, they would need a goalie coming back in any trade they make.

Edit:
Also I believe Price has a NMC which means he dictates where he would go which complicates things even more.

yea I hear you but it sure would be a interesting if something like that were to come true.

lets say everything goes as planned with the NMC with price and all... still think Winnipeg would be one of the better fit for him for now and future if winnipeg were to resign him. Also, you will surely need a goalie back on the trade tho as no team would do a trade and hope to get someone during free agency especially since Montreal window for winning is closing with the group they have. cant see any other team than calgary or winnipeg ... they r the teams with cap and players they could trade plus goalie they could get to compete.

I think the oilers are happy with Talbot but hypothetically...

Something around Draisaitl or RNH + ?

Yeah winnipeg would be a good trading partner, but montreal could potentially sign bishop and trade price after doing so but that's pretty unlikely they do that

As a Flames fan, our team could certainly use Price. I would consider giving Giordano and/or Backlund plus some draft picks. I don't know if that would be enough to get Montreal over the hump though.

Had the same intention, Drai + Talbot + a pick or two for Price + Galchenyuk

With Chicago. Crawford (hometown guy), Anisimov, and Hjalmarsson for Price, Shaw and Emelin. I know you wanted a 1LC but maybe AA can learn to win draws in a different city. (Shawzy improved on the dot, maybe Arty could as well). Hawks would gain a little cap space plus get Shinpads back!

We all need to keep in mind that Price has a complete NMC. He can pick his destination if the Habs decide to trade him.

He won't accept WIN/CAL as destinations.

Realistically, I can picture him in
NSH (because I think the idea of being in the country music capital of the world AND reuniting with PK would interest him),
EDM (opportunity to play on a team loaded with good young players),
VAN (gets closer to home).

I believe he has a 15 team trade clause, not a full NMC.
