Gonna take quite a bit more than that for the hawks to move Murphy. They just signed him to an extension and he's one of their captains

I like the Chicago trade. I wouldn't bother with the LA trade. If I'm moving olofsson I want a first or a good right shot d coming back. On paper the value is fine, if you like taking quantity I suppose, and I'm guessing some LA fans will be along to say that it's an overpayment and that they already have wingers.

Going to have to up the offer. Would at least need to be the 2nd of your 1st round picks in 22' if the deal was done at the draft and I'm not sure the prospect is a priority area for us. So that would also need to change.

I don't believe he has been actively shopped to date. He just signed a new deal albeit with previous management but he is a very solid RD and hitting his prime.

I feel we would be open to trade him should we receive an offer we feel its too good to pass up and will help the rebuild significantly. Perhaps a pick in the 20-25 range and a prospect who is either close to NHL or has NHL experience that we can give a better opportunity to. Preference will likely be a forward prospect.

Fair enough
Idk that the Sabres are gonna be willing to overpay though

I totally understand.

I think your middle pick and potentially Laaksonen could be a consideration. I know its not the forward prospect we covet but your forward prospects we would really look at are likely worth more than Murphy.

I guess we’ll see what happens
I’m surprised u guys weren’t able to trade Kane
Maybe just thought you’d get more in the offseason?

I proposed the same pick, but with Ryan Johnson who is a higher defensive prospect for the Sabres. Would that be more suitable?

I don't think Kane goes. I think he will stay in CHI for the rebuild to bring through the youth movement.

If he does, yes I agree it will likely be to start the season fresh and potentially on Draft Day.

He does like Chicago
But i know his family, & he also wants a chance at another Cup
I could see it go either way

I agree it could go either way.

I may be biased though I lean towards him staying and building his legacy and being #1 Blackhawk for points and assists etc.

When commenting on trades, I try to leave bias at the door when finding value from both perspective.

In this instance, yes there is bias that Id like to keep Kane but I do truly believe he is thinking about the legacy.
