I’d also rather just buy him out then give up a 2nd to move him. Better yet retain 50% and trade him for a 5th

Disagree because when your going for the cup every cap hit counts. I’d rather move him for a pick then a cap hit.

When your farm system is one of the worst in the league I’d rather have the pick. It’s also an asset you can’t use to better the team with in trade. I can work around 1.9 for a year.

Right then throw in Wags cap for playing in the AHL and your over 2 million. It’s one thing to pay that money out but it’s another when you can’t use that 2 million.

They have done it for 3 years now with Moore. 2m won’t kill them. They did not even use all their deadline space this year.

Would not have beaten TB if we had an extra 10m the last 3 years. And TB did once. Lol.

OK whats your number?....what I mean by that and by using this year as a number with a cap hit max of $81.5 what would be the max that you would want for dead cap for a team going for the cup?

He could get us a first but if I put a first people would of lost their minds. If he cont. to play top 6 mins and puts up points then he would get us a late round pick. The same with Mike R if he shows out this playoffs he could get us a 2nd for the 3rd that I put in here.

Depends on the team you have. You can spend to max and suck. You can be well short and be good.

Again it depends on my team. If my team is not good enough to win then no amount as acceptable but having it all may not be enough either. If my team is great and significantly under. I can live with whatever it is I can’t use.

The top 10 teams as far as cap used, 5 will miss the playoffs.

The best 3 teams, only 1 is in the top 10, they are 10th.

Then there is the Rangers who will be in the bottom 10 of cap used.

This years team could spend to the max. Won’t be enough. So it does.not matter.

You retain you suffer for 1 year.

Move the 2nd you get relief for 1 year. Pay for it multiple years.

I guess I love having no dead cap becasue it could come back to bit you in the ass.
