New lines Please

Description
I feel that Svech is only useful playing with the skill guys (its not like he drags them down either). Stas can play the 8 Mins with the 4th line but he also gets both special teams so he number of mins is still ok.

I entirely disagree, svechnikov was very good on the 3rd line with Lowry and copp.

I’m personally split on whether I like the current makeup or the liens before Lowry went into protocol. If I want to get schiefele feeling confident before playoffs (he is not playing with a lot of it right now), I’d keep ehlers there. scheifele hasn’t looked that happy playing for the last 10 games or so. Stastny is not the right player for that spot unless the goal is stabilizing it in its own end, which is pointless if it’s not scoring anyway.

If I want to load up and make an elite line, I put ehlers with 81 and 80. Not sure

For now, I’ll go with getting schiefele going because if the jets do somehow make the playoffs, they’ll need him going. So I keep the lines as is and move Stastny to the 3lw spot and Sanford to 4rw.

I would also like the Jets to run four lines with the centres you listed (though they'd probably have to give Stastny a skilled winger), but I suspect their coaching philosophy will prevent that. What I would like to see if they ever decide to roll four lines -- setting up strong pairings on each line and having a more even minutes distribution among the top 9:
81 - 80 - 71
12 - 55 - 26
27 - 25 - 21
13 - 17 - 22

My guess on what will actually happen when Lowry returns (Stastny back up, Svechnikov to 4th):
25 - 55 - 26
81 - 80 - 27
13 - 17 - 22
12 - 21 - 71

Stas can stabilize the 4th line and we still have 2 good scoring lines. The Lowry line is back with a physical identity, that's staying.

Yeah seems like they brought apples and Sanford in to form a really tough and physical 3rd line.

I’d imagine they’re just going to slot stastny on the top line, move Ehlers with Connor and Dubois and put svech on the 4th with Toni and Harkins.

Yah me too...I will like these lines though as if the top 2 lines can stay productive, Stas just solidifies the 4th line.
tsyls liked this.
