Assuming his NTC doesn't block Detroit too the Wings should demand more. Vegas is desperate

Dadonov is pretty cheap to buy out. It looks like they can manage with only doing that.

You start demanding more someone else will just take him for a lesser price . Arizona for example has money but they somehow keep adding horrible contracts so you know theyll be right in there

Why buy him out? At the end of the season Name's retained contract goes away opening a spot. Retain half and flip him to a contending team that could afford him for the one year.

but the NTC limits the options. Safe to assume only contenders (minimal cap space) and the Sens (notoriously cheap) wouldn't be blocked by the NTC. May as well swing for the fences cause the Knights are desperate.

They're still $400,000 under the cap. It looks like they should be OK until the end of regular season when the cap is lifted.

Yzerman did mention he was interested in taking a salary dump at the trade deadline but the other GM ended up not needing his help to facilitate the trade. I wonder if he was referencing the Vegas trade?

Was thinking that but his production has been going down for a few seasons so not sure someone would take him at 2.5 cap hit and 3.5 actual $ ... if thats doable 100% . Id want someone better or younger in his spot in detroit but hey if we think he can bounce back to 50+ pt season we’d easily get another 2nd + at the deadline. I’d definitely target him now for another pick though

Ya for sure , we’d have to not be on the list . Unless we come to an agreement and he knows hes being bought out at seasons end? Whoever trades for him now he wont be able to play so wouldnt matter

Dallas just pulled ahead of Vegas and are now 1 point in front with 4 games in hand. Plus the Jets are breathing down their neck. Jets are 2 points behind Vegas with 2 games in hand. It doesn't look good for Vegas making the playoffs.

Good that means we can get a top 16 pick lol , realistically another pick around in the late 40s . We should be all over this right now and if i found out stevie didnt even try id be dissapointed

There's likely more than a few teams who'd be interested in this potential trade. Red Wings, Coyotes, Devils, Sabres, Sens just to name a few.

Oh for sure , be nice to finally get in there ... definetly dont want to see arizona get another scrap yet again for assets . They should be blacklisted
