The Jets don't need an LD in Oleksiak, an overpaid bottom 6 guy in DeBrusk with his new extension or to give up 2 first round picks for an extra couple weeks to negotiate with Klingberg just to find out he's not going to sign in Winnipeg as an FA.

And giving a pick to Buffalo to take Pionk is ridiculous, he's not a cap dump and he's WAY better then DeMelo so why trade the better dman away, makes no sense at all!

Oh and Subban is terrible and done, was overrated in his prime, don't need or want him.

Detroit will offer a 3rd for Schmidt. His value is slightly lower in the offseason than at the TDL. WPG also have 3 defenders that no longer will be exempt from waivers next season so it's not like they can chose to keep him.

His salary is reasonable.
