If they can get him without giving up Matthews (which won't happen), Dubas should be named GM of the year.

List of players that they'd likely deal him for:
McDavid
Matthews
maybe Draisaitl
MacKinnon with contract extension guaranteed
Makar
maybe Barkov
maybe Fox

I think they'd consider a package like this - Stevie Y loves good value

Seider is untouchable and there is not a single thing you could offer Detroit to change that.

Needless to say, TOR doesn't have the assets to land Seider.

He's about as or maybe more untouchable as Matthews due to the length of team control over him.

Okay chill comparing Seider to Matthews, yes he has a lot of value but come on Matthews is a top 3 player and idk why everyone is acting like he can't just sign a contract extension at some point lmfao.

So you're telling me you'd rather have Moritz Seider than Connor McDavid?

Lol. How about we give you Sandin (yes, I know Seider is far better it's just a comparison to show you how bad your take is) for Larkin and 10 first round picks instead?

For that sass, now it's 20 1st round picks, Matthews at 50% retention and the historical rights to Tim Horton

I agree Our GMs know better in this situation If one out performs the other someone is definitely getting fired.

I think if Matthews for Seider was offered Steve Y would take it but the thing is, it probably wouldn't be offered.

I think the hypothetical never going to happen trades should stay in the trade machine section.

The only reason you posted this is because you wanted to hear a Detroit fan say I'd trade Seider. or You wanted Detroit fans to say they wouldn't accept it giving you a reason to get into gan argument. But either way you are playing some kind of immature game.

Maybe just because it's hard to judge the fallout. Toronto loves Matthews and so do most of the Toronto fans on CapFriendly. Those blow it up ACGMs or need a change ACGM Matthews is the one player you see far less than any other player. Who ever proposes the trade I think the other says no. I really don't see either one doing this.

To answer your question yes I think Matthews is better than Seider. That's the question you really wanted answered. Right???

I suppose.

Well, I guess I was also wondering how a Marner Seider swap would go. Because in my unbiased opinion Seiders value is probably slightly higher, but I’d be curious as to what you think.

Without a cap, they're probably equivalent in my mind, unfortunately, there's a hard cap and Seider makes $800k for 2 seasons

Crazy how a guy can play 63 NHL games and be completely untouchable - I'd be willing to argue whether this package is enough but everyone in the league is available at the right price
In this trade you get your RW1 until Raymond surpasses him, a RD who is OBVIOUSLY worse but still a young guy that will play top 4 minutes, Knies, who people are calling one of the better prospects in the game, and on top of that another first round pick. Leafs get the better player without a doubt but the Red Wings get better
