Trades
1.
MTL
  1. Myers, Philippe
Additional Details:
Nash loses Forsberg to FA and need to replace scoring touch. Myers (having gone unclaimed through waivers) has pretty low value but could be seen as a projects. They also have tons of cap space so no issues with Hoffman's contract.
2.
MTL
  1. Zadina, Filip [RFA Rights]
  2. 2023 2nd round pick (DET)
Additional Details:
Detroit have lost faith in Zadina who is an RFA and needs to be resigned. They have tons of cap room going forward so taking on Petry isn't a huge burden. Petry brings them veteran leadership + hometown passion on the backend and rounds out their RHD corps (Seider, Petry, Hronek).
DET
  1. Petry, Jeff
  2. 2022 3rd round pick (MTL)
Additional Details:
Montreal takes a flyer on Zadina but the real intent here is to get out of the Petry contract and finding him a spot he'd like to play.

A swap with Seattle Gourde for Petry. Then you find a sucker to take on Dvorak ahah.

Why trade Dvorak ? Y’all complaining he is more of a 3C then a 2C but y’all ignore the fact that he is young and we don’t have anyone better than him to play 2C. Maybe if we draft Wright or Cooley we could trade him but only 2 years from now

He doesn’t fit with the high pace game.

Just because Wings have cap is no reason to take on three years of Petry (if they don't want/need him)

Just a bad move because he wanted to put a competitive team again even if it was impossible
A late 1st is fair value for Dvorak if we look at his contract, the 2nd was pushed a little bit

Dvorak was probably worth a first but Bergevin made a terrible desperate move when after loosing 2 centerman, 2 of your top 4 defenseman and your all Star goalie. He should have stay put and kept is money for the futur. But Molson should have put is feet down before Bergevin screw us. He made some great move over is reign but this last offseason was terrible.

IMO Molson told him to find a way to put a team competitive because of our playoffs run. So he tried to replace Weber with Savard, Tatar with Hoffman, Danault with Dvorak, Kotkaniemi with Evans/Poehling. We should have start the rebuilt right away

We should have start the rebuilt 4 years ago when we finish in 28th position. Then he traded Pacioretty and the team had a good season missing the playoff by 1 point the next season but that was majorly because Price was stellar in the second half of the season. We should have been seller in 2019 and 2020. Then Tatar, Gallagher, Petry, Danault even Weber and Price where still holding good value. I am not delusional next year we will suck again. At least with St louis we are still competitive but unless Price have a Hart trophy caliber season Habs will be a the bottom of the standings again. The eastern conference is way to competitive.
