God damn... heard Future Considerations was a legend for the Flyers, can't believe they'd just give him up like that.

I'll bet there's gonna be a lot less "thought teams couldn't trade after the deadline??" comments this year with the Dadonov situation

The Wild are not getting the draft pick from the first trade for Menell.

Also, the future of the Leafs will eventually be considered by the Flyers.

Just not today.

Flyers win.

Leafs and Wild lose.

Can Menell play of the flyers AHL team this season? If so they win. If not, fair trade.

I wonder if this trade was actually made before the deadline, or the GMs were just taking advantage of the Dadanov situation. Leafs win if Future Considerations > Roster Flexibility (Empty Roster Spot). Flyers win if Menell > Future Considerations. Future Considerations has to be something, so the real loser here is the Wild.

Is future consideration ever a team purposely playing their back up goalie against that team.... could this future consideration ever be used as a "throw a game" for us.

Or beat up the playoff team we're chasing.

Probably not, but that would be great... I love shady business.

In Bobby Clarke era, the answer would be YES.

You're such a cynic.

And I say that admiringly.

Does future considerations actually have to be something? Is anybody keeping track? Can Dubas call up Fletcher in August and say, “hey Chuck, remember those future considerations from March? I want ‘em now,”, and then Fletcher says, “sorry Kyle, when I said ‘future’ I meant farther in the future, like next year, or maybe the year after?”

Once Carolina traded a player to Florida for future considerations, then the next day Florida traded a different player to Carolina for future considerations. Did one player deserve more consideration than the other, or did Carolina get back their own future considerations? Wouldn’t that be past considerations? How come we don’t see anybody getting traded for past considerations?

I'm not sure why you guys keep acting like the elit Future Considerations isn't a real player...

He's the best in the league. Everyone wants him lol.

I'm not sure, good question. Until I find out, Future Considerations have a chance to be something, and that's more than it guaranteed to be nothing, which is what Minnesota got.

Mennell isn't an NHLer (according to the Leafs) and certainly wasn't going to be resigned by the Leafs/Marlies. Just gives a guy to show what he has in another organization.

I always suspected that there must be a legitimate transaction that occurs in a Future Consideration trade.
I suspect the FC is embarrassingly little, so they don't release details.
We always joke that it's a bag of hockey pucks.
