No chance Klingberg signs in Winnipeg as a UFA and certainly not at that cap hit.

Agreed. Marek (Sportsnet) reported in January that Klingberg was looking for an AAV of $7.75 million to $8.25 million with max term. That's his ask, but $4.75 x 4 years is way off.

I don't think that signing a D is a need as we can just keep Schmidt on the right and plug both Samberg and Heinola in with Stanley as the 7th and Kovacevich as the 8th

In terms of the trade I don't think that the Jets would be targeting Yammamoto just because when we play the Oilers I notice that we intentionally go out of our way to beat him up physically because he quits on the game when you do that. Having that intel in our back pocket means that we likely have no interest in adding that player. But I do think moving Dillon is a real possibility. Something's got to give although both Samberg and Heinola are both waivers exempt next year as well so we could just keep Dillon for one more go at it with a new coach if we turn things around at the end of the year here.

I watch every game he plays and he gets hit hard all the time, never quits the game tho so I'm not sure where you got that from. Theres a reason he's called the honey badger lol

I just noticed it particularly in the playoffs last year but also in regular season this year. After the whistle in the scrum, when he's on his way to the bench, they are always pushing him around and banging him which stands out to me because our team doesn't do that to basically anyone but they beat the piss out of Yammamoto whenever we play for whatever reason.

Just my observation from the Jets side of Jets - Oilers matchups. He's just not who I would target and if the Jets scouting report on him is what I believe it is, they will have no interest in him either.

He;s no doubt a hard worker, but i've also noticed in our games that we do target Yamo and he disappears over the game
