Description
Helping out our friends in Vegas if they can't find a trading partner for Dadonov.

As per his NTC -- Agree to a price first, then talk with Dadonov.

"Listen, Gene. So Vegas doesn't want you. We know you'll have to sit out the rest of the season with us -- that's unavoidable. Come to Buffalo, talk to Tuckie and meet the boys, think it over for the summer. If you don't want to buy into what we're building, no hard feelings -- we will retain cap and send you to a team not on your no-trade list before training camp at a price that will make them very happy to acquire your services.

But if you want to buy in -- maybe we have a place for you.

Do you want to waive?"

Sabres give up a few slots in the first round of this year's draft (assuming Vegas actually improves) for a 2nd and a 3rd (2023), plus at least $2.5m toward the cap floor next season and another asset. Maybe even get a winger out of the deal.

If Dadonov said no to Anaheim, i seriously doubt he'd waive for Buffalo.

Pretty sure it’s all about state tax rates for his no trade clause. Which means every New York team is on it too.

no one ever reads the description.

Yes - Buffalo should definitely do it for a 2023 first, but I think it would be taking Vegas for a ride and they won't do it. You want the fish to take the bait, not spit it out. Cap relief or not, VGK isn't making the playoffs.

A second and two thirds is still worth considering.
