The value to Minnesota is probably about right but Detroit would probably rather bet on Berggren who is a few years younger and fits the core a little better.

I kinda think Wings owe to their players and fans to spend some cap instead of waiting for all prospects. If the two players mentioned have a good chance to be NHLers, I think Minni accepts. Now there might be a few more competitors such as NJ or Ottawa bidding too...but a fair offer you proposed.

Tough to trade Berggren, I would like to see what he's got at the nhl level. But it's good value.

The value is fine, it's just the wrong players.

Tuomisto is the only RD prospect we have. On LD we have McIsaac whose waiver exemption ends after next season and by then we'll have both Edvinsson and Johansson and maybe also Sebrango ahead of him. Swap those two.

Berggren is a really nice prospect that has great playmaking skills (like Raymond). On C we have Rasmussen that will be out of a spot as soon as we sign a 2C this offseason (Larkin + new guy + Suter + Veleno + Stephens). Swap Berggren for Rasmussen.

If we need to add more then there's Erne and Oesterle (we're signing new LDs in the offseason).

This would be highly dependent on what Fiala's ask is and if he is determined to seek UFA. If he is willing to talk a long term extension at a reasonable cap hit before the trade than its fair value. But if he wants top dollar or wants to walk in a year as a UFA then no.

I agree Berggren, Tuomisto and 2nd is more than I'd want to give up for another winger. Berggren Detroit's best forward prospect and Detroit only has 2 RHD prospects worth mentioning Tuomisto and Cotton. Switching a player and I could see it. THAT'S MY OPINION and I doubt Steve is going to ask my opinion.

Ok but with Bertuzzi, Raymond and Vrána all easily 1st line players does Yzerman give up that much? He is a winger.
