Boeser's QO is for $7.5M. He's not signing for less than that.

Boeser isn't worth $7.5M. Don't want him on my team. Certainly not worth giving up a haul like that for him.

Also, Sean Walker is worth more than that.

RHD is our strength, No need for Walker even though a 3rd rounder is a steal for him.

I think 7.5 is just for salary next season. I don’t think determines his cap hit being 7.5 AAV for his entire next contract unless that contract is only for 1 year. Could probably be negotiated down quite a bit given a longer contract.

This isn't entirely true. He can negotiate a contract that is less than his QO. Alternatively, the team could choose to file for arbitration rather than give him a QO. This would open up the door for arbitration to give Boeser a deal that is at minimum $6,375,000.

Wouldn't surprise me to see them land on a 1-3yr agreement in the 6,400,000 to 6,800,000 range in order to avoid arbitration.

Your profile name made me think you were a Canuck fan, but from your comment, I guess you are an LAK supporter.

Boeser is actually likely to sign a long term contract for less than his QO.

Also you don't think LAK need help on scoring? Boeser has averaged 0.8 ppg over 5 seasons, compared to say Kempe who have averaged less than 0.5 ppg for 5 seasons.

A Canuck is a person from Canada. I'm not, nor have I ever been a fan of the Vancouver hockey team.

The Kings definitely need help on scoring. I don't think Boeser is the answer. For one, he's never cracked 30g in his career. Additionally, the Kings are looking to become a fast team, and Boeser is a below-average skater, at best. There are a lot of other goal scorers I'd look at before Boeser.

I've been advocating for the Kings to trade Kempe as well. I don't think he's worth anywhere near the extension that he's going to want. If Kempe wants more than $4.5M AAV on his next contract, then the Kings should get rid of him.

Fair enough. I agree Boeser's skating is below average. He is really a sniper, so he can be an excellent complementary piece to the right line/team and is easily worth the trade pieces proposed, plus a long term contract in the $6m range. Although he hasn't cracked 30 goals in a season, his whole career has been on pace for 30 goals per 82 games (121 goals in 324 games).
