I think they need a serious wake up call as a team because on paper that roster is not this bad they've been playing for last couple of years.

I think Torts could be a fantastic guy to do that. Plus now that Giroux is out a some sort of culture change might have a place for it.

I don't think Torts has much to offer this sport as it is, but seeing what happened in CGY after they hired another old coach in Sutter, I think Flyers have very little to lose here.

Only if you think yelling at them is going to make them play better.
If you want to recycle a coach, go after one that is having success and has a contract about to expire, or an assistant for a successful team that is ready for a promotion.
Otherwise, develop your own or bring in somebody fresh. You can hire experienced coaches as assistants to help them transition to the NHL. You don't need a 60 year old that was fired recently.

That being said, I don't think it'd be a long-term thing. Rather trying to see if it's an attitude issue in the locker room without authority - Torts could change that.

i'll take that bet if we can change it to dubas isn't the gm of the leafs at the start of next season.

maybe he gets fired but they could also just choose to not extend him if he's in his final year or he gets 'promoted' into another role with the leafs.
