Good, because there’s no way in h-e double hockey sticks were trading Mailloux a future top 4 D, nor Ylonen.

NY isn't willing to give up on Lafreniere and I don't think anyone should be. We're in the running for the first pick, and like Lafreniere and the hundreds of players taken in the last couple drafts, development and transition to the NHL has been difficult given the pandemic/lockdown circumstances.

Also, Mailloux is the only RD prospect in our system right now and those first rounders will likely be used to draft defencemen (not to mention if Florida goes to hell, that 2023 first is unprotected).

While I agree to move Drouin and I’ve been saying that for two years, I am not moving Mailloux, a future #4 behind Barron at #2.

This is trade neither team says yes to.

Mailloux although a touchy subject is montreal's best RHD prospect, without question. Something they don't have.
Ylönen is an NHL ready prospect that they are taking their time with. I understand adding him, but I don't think they are looking to trade youth.
I doubt they want to get rid of an unprotected 2023 1st round pick.

For NYR, I doubt they move Laf for anything other than a massive haul that helps them to win now and in the future. and it wouldn't make sense to make that trade.

Habs fans are so obsessed with Laffy. Teach Suzuki to speak French and forget about getting Laffy.

None of those pieces get Alexis Lafreniere, Ktratsov for Suzuki. Yeah that's how bad this trade is.
