I don't see the Leafs trading Nylander unless an upgrade on defense or in goal is coming the other way.

Can they handle the cap crunch?

Playoff Nylander is pretty good too.

Also I can't see a 2nd and 3rd being the difference between Nylander and Beauvillier.

A, “hockey trade,” is one player for one player.

I think the gap between Nylander and Beauvillier is a lot more than a 2nd + 3rd

The cap space difference isn't enough to downgrade that much

You are trading him for Nylander so you obviously prefer the better player.

Yeah because one of these players is way better and makes more. You don't give up a better player just because Islander fans want to feel like they stuck it to the leafs

Sounds like it makes more sense for you to keep him if he really is a playoff performer.

I don't mind keeping him, i like him as a player and he always turns up in the playoffs. He's just having a down year

I honestly don't care about the Leafs, I just saw the report that one of the core four was probably going to move and made a trade proposal
